"This film captures the essence and grit of urban resilience and solidarity. A story that transcends skate culture and tests community perseverance in the face of political challenges."
Concrete Law is an international award-winning feature documentary directed by April Jones.
Renegade skateboarders turn their frustration with the lack of government support into fuel for political action. The Channel Street Skatepark in San Pedro, CA flourished for over a decade until overpass construction led to a shutdown. Facing the fate of demolition, founders and advocates navigate their way through political minefields to obtain land and permits to save their skatepark, in an area of one of the busiest shipping ports on the planet.

"Thank you all for the support and following the Concrete Law film through this incredible journey...
In April 2024, I set out with a one-way ticket and a one-way mission: to Save DIY. We engaged in meaningful conversations, discussion panels, activated youth programming and skateboard giveaways, launched impactful campaigns and strategy sessions, collaborated with nonprofits, made new friends, and crushed some heavy skate sessions. Seven countries and twenty-five screenings later, the Concrete Law film has wrapped up its 2024 save DIY impact tour. Every screening was so very special in its own unique way.
Thank each and everyone of you bringing for bringing the good vibes and support! Stay tuned for some excited news for 2025..."
